Meet Draco
Draco is a 10-year-old thoroughbred rescued from a racetrack
and now living out his life as a pasture pet and kids' horse.
Because of uneven weight distribution caused
by a knee problem on his left foreleg, Draco's right foreleg
bore the majority of his front weight and his hoof had split
to the coronet band and mushroomed. As is often the case,
the stress of his chronic pain was having an adverse effect
on his entire body.
Draco's first trim was in March of 2006. Even
though unforeseen circumstances caused a less-than-ideal trimming
schedule, six months later, after his fifth trim, Draco was
running with his pasture mates and had gained weight. If we
could have trimmed Draco more frequently, his recovery would
have been even faster.
Contact Heel First Landings to arrange
for an initial consultation and first trim. Your horse will
soon reach new levels of well being and performance, and you'll
be able to enjoy your horse again.
